Stallings residents will see a property tax decrease this year, albeit a very small one.
The Stallings Town Council voted 4-1 Monday, with Council Member Barbara Anne Price dissenting, to approve the 2009-2010 budget. Council member Mark Franza did not attend the meeting.
The town's tax rate will drop from 21.9 cents to 21.5 cents per $100 valuation, according to an estimate from Stallings Town Manager Brian Matthews.
That means the annual property tax on a house valued at $150,000 will decrease $6, to $322.50, with the lower tax rate.
Stallings has not had a tax increase in five years.
