Fatal shooting on Old Concord Road

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating an early morning shooting death that took place at 9401 Old Concord Road in the University City Division. Police have not released the name of the victim pending family notification.

University City Division officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment off Old Concord Road. Officers found the victim suffering from several gun shot wounds. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center and died later. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing a male suspect dressed in black and wearing a camouflage mask running from the scene.

It was the second fatal shooting in Charlotte in two days.
