Charlotte City Council member Nancy Carter has called a community meeting for her district tonight.
Carter represents District 5, which covers east Charlotte, including much of the Eastland area; the Hickory Grove community; the Albemarle, Lawyers and Idlewild road corridors; much of the Independence Boulevard corridor; and the Monroe Road and Rama Road areas.
Tonight's meeting will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hickory Grove Recreation Center, 6709 Pence Road. It is next to Hickory Grove Elementary School.
Topics will include code enforcement and the non-residential property ordinance; economic development, including the Eastland and Independence areas; and transit, with a focus on Independence Boulevard, the street car line, and light rail.
