A 50-year-old Chester man died after being hit by a car while crossing a Chester County road early this morning, officials say.
Fredrick Leroy Robinson was killed after being struck by a Buick on Ashford Road, Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said.
Robinson was walking on the southbound side of Ashford Road near the J.A. Cochran Bypass just outside of the Chester city limits around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, said Lance Cpl. Kathy Hiles of the Highway Patrol.
He was struck crossing the road by a 1997 Buick driven northbound on Ashford Road by John Holley, 29, of Chester, Hiles said.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene, Hiles said. The driver of the car was wearing a seat belt and wasn't hurt, she said.
It is not known if charges will be filed in this incident.
