A Hickory woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man Thursday night at her home.
Dead is Reginald Alexander Johnson, 37, of Conover. April Shanel Rhinehardt, 28, has been charged in his death.
Police say they responded to a call about 9:40 p.m. Thursday at Rhinehardt's residence, on 3rd Avenue. They found Johnson with a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory but died about 5 a.m. Friday.
Police have not said what might have been a motive for the killing.
Rhinehardt originally was charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, but that charged was changed to murder when Johnson died.
Rhinehardt is being held on $250,000 bond in the Catawba County Jail.
