The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will mark Grandparents Day with a special celebration Saturday in uptown Charlotte.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Association of Educational Office Professionals will sponsor the Grandparents Celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Education Center, on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The event will feature food, live music, prizes and vendors. The West Mecklenburg High School band and chorus are scheduled to perform.
The event is open to the public.
Sunday is the national observance of Grandparents Day.
