Cabarrus County sheriff's deputies say four people led them on a pursuit across parts of four counties overnight, with police capturing two of the people they were chasing.
The pursuit began about 1:30 a.m., when the sheriff's office was called about a suspicious vehicle on Bethel School Road, not far from the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg county line.
Deputies responded, spotted several people in a vehicle, and that triggered the pursuit, which winded across Cabarrus, eastern Mecklenburg, northern Union and western Stanly counties. Authorities say the four people in the car ditched their vehicle near Locust in Stanly County and fled.
Deputies caught two men a short time later but said they are looking for two others.
