Cannon School in Concord will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a party Saturday, including games, entertainment, and a big birthday cake.
Cannon School was founded in 1969 as Cabarrus Academy and renamed in 1998. It originally occupied the historic downtown Concord residence of textile leader J.W. Cannon. The current campus is at 5801 Poplar Tent Road.
Saturday's activities are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cannon School community is welcomed to attend the event.
