The developers of The Silos at South End thought they would start the mixed-use project with residential units, but the housing crisis caused them to reconsider.
Now, Citiline Resortline Cos. plans to launch the 11-acre transit village with a healthier sector of the real estate market – commercial development.
It expects to start work late this year on the project's first two office buildings, one of which already has an anchor tenant.
Flats and townhomes likely will become part of first-phase construction by the second quarter of 2009.
