Eastman Kodak Co. filed a U.S. trade complaint against Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. seeking to ban imports of mobile phones that have digital cameras.
Kodak, a 128-year-old photography company based in Rochester, N.Y., filed the complaint Monday with the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington. Kodak also filed two patent-infringement lawsuits against the companies in federal court in Rochester, seeking cash and an order that would stop use of its patented inventions.
The ITC, if it agrees to investigate the case, could block imports of any products made by the two Korean companies that are found to violate Kodak patents. The civil suit is likely to be put on hold while the ITC conducts its investigation. Bloomberg News

The government said Monday it has supplied $33.56 billion to 21 banks in a second round of payments from the $700 billion rescue program.
The Treasury Department confirmed the second round of government stock purchases designed to bolster the balance sheets of the nation's banks to combat the worst financial crisis in more than seven decades.
The two banks in the Carolinas receiving money were BB&T Corp. of Winston-Salem ($3.1 billion) and 1st FS Corp. of Hendersonville ($16.4 million). Associated Press and Observer staff reports
