Daniel had asked me to go to the lake, but I woke up to a very dreary morning. He could tell I wasn’t excited about the plan, but he made it happen anyway. With every peek of sunshine he would say, “Get excited! The sun is coming out!” When we got to the lake, we went straight out to the dock to set up for our picnic. The sun had, indeed, come out!After lunch we decided it was time to play in the water. As we were walking upstairs to get changed into our swimsuits, I noticed there was music playing. I walked a little farther, and as I turned to see where it was coming from, I saw a potter’s wheel, a bottle of champagne, a note and a box. I immediately felt sick — not because he makes me sick — but because I was so surprised! I skimmed to the bottom of the letter where it said, “There is something in the box that I would like for you to have.” I opened the box. It was empty. I turned around and saw him down on one knee, and of course I said yes!Leah and Daniel will be married on October 24, 2009
