UPDATED 9/11/09: In the summer of 2009, media organizations involved with Charlotte Mission Possible invited citizens to submit fresh ideas to help meet Charlotte’s charitable needs. Several hundred people took up the challenge and submitted ideas, both online and on paper.
By searching the database below, you can read those ideas. Every submission has been posted. In the interest of having an open process, we've elected to post all the ideas. So, you might find a few of them, especially those from people who don't live in Charlotte, suggest services already available in the city. And you'll also see a few that promote a specific product or service.
The Charlotte Observer has contact information for the people who submitted ideas. If you would like to reach one of the people with an eye toward getting an idea implemented, please e-mail the Observer. Be sure to include the name of the person you wish to contact.
In early fall, the Observer and its media partners are hosting a group of citizens to sort through the ideas and decide which ones would be good to highlight through in-depth news coverage. You're also invited to comment on the ideas at our online forum.
You'll see more stories in the next month or two.
