You can run the tables for less during ‘Queen's Feast'

Grab an idea that's seductive anytime: discount dining. Splice it into one of the draggiest restaurant seasons of the year – mid-July – and cast plenty of upscale spots, along with more middle-range places: Holy halibut, Batman! You've got something hotter than Hellboy.

Charlotte Restaurant Week, also dubbed “ Queen's Feast,” runs through Friday, July 18.

Here's the setup: 42 restaurants offer three courses for $30 plus tax and tip.

Among the participants are the famously expensive Del Frisco's steakhouse and the quietly long-running and casual Hotel Charlotte; and the more straightforward eats of Dilworth Neighborhood Grille.

In these days of economic strife, with recent high-profile closings ( Woods on South and Table, to name two), some are adding benefits that spill over from CRW. Zebra, which sold out, extended the offer for $29.95 Mondays through Thursdays until July 31. Oceanaire Seafood Room will run the $30 deal through July 25.
