Kellie Pickler is a newlywed!
After a proposal on the beach last June, the "elated" country singer, 24, and songwriter Kyle Jacobs, 37, eloped, exchanging vows on Jan. 1, in a "small, intimate ceremony on a private island in the Caribbean," her rep told People magazine.
The couple, who have been dating since 2008, got engaged on June 15, 2010, when Jacobs popped the question on a Florida beach.
"It was the most spiritual moment." Pickler, an Albemarle native who got her start on "American Idol," said of the proposal. "We would've gotten married that night had there been a preacher walking by!"
Pickler's songs include the top 10 hit she co-wrote with Taylor Swift, "Best Days of Your Life," as well as "Red High Heels," "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," and her most recent single, "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again."
