The Avett Brothers revealed a new gig Wednesday night: They're playing the Grammys on Sunday... with Bob Dylan.
The Los Angeles Times broke the story that Dylan is expected to play with the Avetts as part of a three-song suite that also includes the British group Mumford and Sons.
The Avetts will play their song "Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise" as part of the suite.
It wasn't 100 percent clear if Dylan will play; Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich told the Times that it's "all subject to a certain person's approval." But the Avetts are in California preparing to play at the awards show.
The Concord-based band -- brothers Scott and Seth Avett, plus Bob Crawford and Joe Kwon -- have sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide of their major-label debut, "I and Love and You." They're working on a new record with producer Rick Rubin.
The Avetts play Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte on April 9.
