Southern Spring Home & Garden Show

10 a.m.-8 p.m. (also 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, and Feb. 28-March 2). The Park Expo and Conference Center, 2500 E. Independence Blvd. $10 (free for kids younger than 15); parking is $7 per car.

Meet hundreds of experts with thousands of ideas for building, remodeling, gardening, and decorating your favorite spaces. A highlight is Belgard Gardens, which features 20 beautiful gardens, designer rooms and specialty floral displays.


Flogging Molly

The Irish-American band – which has risen from tiny bars to selling out its Green 17 tour annually – ends that run with a 10th anniversary Green 17 tour leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. Its next album is due in 2015.


‘Petite Rouge: A Cajun Red Riding Hood’

11 a.m. (also 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Sunday, and various performances through March 9). $18-$24.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte will produce Joan Cushing’s zydeco musical about Little Red, the Big Bad Gator and a trip to Chez Grandmere.


‘Broadway Rocks’

8 p.m. (also Friday). Knight Theater, 430 S. Tryon St. $39.50-$65.50.

Broadway actors Capathia Jenkins, Christiane Noll and Rob Evan join the Charlotte Symphony in numbers from “Hairspray,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Wicked,” “Rent” and more.
