8 p.m. Time Warner Cable Arena. 333 E. Trade St. $58.15-$197.70. www.livenation.com.
Touring for new album “The 20/20 Experience” brings the pop king to CLT for the first time since (gasp!) he was in ’N Sync – the era of “Bye Bye Bye” and Britney. Now it’s “Suit & Tie” and Jay-Z, and a neo-soul sound that led to the biggest digital debut in U.S. history by a male artist.
7:30 p.m. Theatre Charlotte, 501 Queens Road. $5-$10. www.charlottefilmsociety.org.
In this 2013 drama from Iranian director Jafar Panahi, a screenwriter hides out with his dog after the regime declares dogs “impure” and bans them from walking in public. Man and pet are soon joined by others seeking refuge. The post-film discussion will be led by Observer arts writer Lawrence Toppman.
Noon-5 p.m. at The Oaks, 628 N.C. 24/27 W., Midland. $15-$20 (kids 12 and younger free). www.colorfestival.com.
India’s Holi is a daylong festival welcoming spring, with roots deep in the culture and its stories. This event is one stop in a nation-crossing series, with vibrant-colored dusts (you’ll be covered in it; they’re cornstarch-based, say planners) and live music.
