Charlotte Pride Festival
Noon-6 p.m., with parade at 1 p.m., uptown on Tryon Street between Stonewall and Fourth. Free.
The festival uptown happens both Saturday and Sunday, with more vendors, more entertainment and more attractions than last year, and culminating with the parade.
Dixie Gun & Knife Show
10 a.m.-5 p.m. (also 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday). Metrolina Tradeshow Expo, 7100 Statesville Road. $8 (12 and younger free). www.dixie
The largest show of its kind in the Carolinas offers the opportunity to buy, sell or trade antique and modern guns; military and sporting guns; surplus and accessories; and hunting, camping and outdoor recreational equipment.
