Aiden Joseph-Pauline, above, a student at Socrates Academy, enjoys the Way Out Swing ride at the 37th Annual Yiasou Greek Festival on Thursday.
The festival, which continues through Sunday, began in 1978 and has become one of Charlotte’s largest cultural events. Chris Pangalos, right, dressed as a Spartan warrior, describes his armor to students.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. It’s held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Blvd.
Admission is $3, children 12 and younger get in free. Details: www.yiasoufestival.org.
