Get your syllables (all 17) rounded up and charge forth for the annual (rain or shine) Haiku Holiday Conference in Chapel Hil on Saturday, April 30.
Award-winning haiku poet Roberta Beary of Washington, D.C., who studied haiku for five years in Japan, will be the featured speaker.
Leading workshops in addition to Beary will be haiku poet Robert Moyer of Winston-Salem and Lenard D. Moore, executive chairman of the North Carolina Haiku Society.

The day (8:30 a.m.- 3p.m.) will include the reading of haiku by participants (one each with minimal introductory remarks) and lunch (bring your own).
