Corkbuzz Charlotte is now open at 4905 Ashley Park Lane (near SouthPark), sibling to sommelier/restaurateur Laura Maniec’s New York original. Dinner’s going; lunch is planned to start Monday.
On the menu now: snacks of oysters, chicken liver mousse with warm biscuits, gougeres; charcuterie ranging from duck rillette to Iberico ham; entrees of housemade fettuccine with zucchini pistou, Carolina trout with smoked potato, and grilled ribeye with fingerlings and crispy maitake mushrooms; cheeses such as housemade ricotta, Point Reyes Bay Blue and Pecorino Ginepro. Prices run from $5 for warm seasoned olives to $19 for the fettuccine to $31 for the ribeye. Yes, there’ll be pairing suggestions aplenty. (For example: Put that trout with Bodegas Muriel Gran Reserva Rioja, why don’t you?)
