Jon Gosselin appeared in New York Sunday -- with his new buddy Rabbi Shmuley Boteach -- to apologize to Kate and ask her forgiveness.

Gawker has video of the forum where Jon Gosselin apologizes for his misdeeds. Says Gosselin, "Half the stuff I've done, if I look at my moral compass, I shouldn't have done. I know that, but I did it anyway. It's like fame canceled out conviction. I didn't grow up this way. But I have to keep on going, keep on working and providing."

Gosselin goes on to issue an actual apology to Kate. "I want to apologize to Kate in private. I'll apologize to her for openly having relationships in the public eye. That was a huge mistake, because if she would've done that to me, I would have been extremely pissed off. Now that I think about it, it was a very wrong thing to do. I definitely regret it."

He goes on to confirm reports that he and Hailey Glassman are indeed on a break in order to slow things down until the divorce between himself and Kate is final, but that he loves Hailey.

Let's hope he doesn't take this "break" as an opportunity to sleep with the cute girl from the copy place.
