In the November issue of Cosmopolitan magazine is Curtis Beardsell. The 24-year-old was chosen as one of the country's hottest bachelors. And he lives here in Charlotte (cue Beyonce's "Single Ladies").
Curtis and I met at one of his favorite lunch spots, Fox and Hound, in uptown Charlotte. He told me he was nervous about the interview (how cute).
Then, I went after him with the hardball questions -- boxers or briefs? How does it feel to be hot?
Curtis told me he was shocked when he found out Cosmo had chosen him.
"My boss actually didn't believe me and he told me this is probably a joke. I thought back and went, you know what, it might be. There's a 50-50 chance it's a joke and if so, it's a great joke," he said.
But it wasn't a joke. He's got the picture in Cosmo to prove it. Curtis also has more than 100 e-mails from women all over the country to remind him of his hotness. He's responded to every single one -- with a few exceptions.
"I've gotten five e-mails from women who are currently incarcerated. I'm sure they look great in orange!" he said.
Curtis moved to Charlotte from the Philadelphia area a year ago. He sells and leases semi-trailers for a company in Concord.
He stays in shape by working out almost every day -- that includes assistant coaching for the wrestling team at Mallard Creek High School, something he absolutely loves.
"I love coaching. I wrestled for 13 or 14 years, but coaching -- that's my deal," he said.
So what's he looking for in a woman? He says he wants someone who is honest and confident. Good-looking wouldn't hurt either.
"Looks aren't the most important thing to me but I have to be attracted to somebody first," he said.
Curtis himself is handsome, funny, sweet, modest and laid-back. And he loves to cook! What a catch.
