What to Watch on Monday: A canine casualty on ‘Major Crimes’

A wealthy dog is murdered on “Major Crimes,” while the fourth season of “Teen Wolf” premieres and HBO airs “The Case Against 8” documentary.

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - A wannabe detective helps the division probe the slaying of a dog that was left a $20 million estate by his deceased owner. As the squad digs deeper into the case, suspicions also arise about the death of the dog’s wealthy master.

The Case Against 8 (9pm, HBO) - An examination of the legal battle to overturn California’s Proposition 8, the law that banned gay marriage in the state. The filmmakers focus on the specific case that led to the legal ruling that overturned the controversial measure.

24: Live Another Day (9pm, Fox) - Jack and Chloe launch a plan to eliminate the terrorist threat and keep London safe from any more attacks, but to do so, first he and Kate need to track down some crucial leads with little time to spare. True colors are revealed in the midst of some very intense circumstances.

The Fosters (9pm, ABC Family) - Brandon considers having hand surgery, and Stef’s opinion on the matter conflicts with Lena’s. Meanwhile, Stef questions Mike about Ana’s disappearance.

Murder in the First (10pm, TNT) - The investigators search for clues that may link suspects in the death of Cindy Strauss. Elsewhere, Hildy faces a young witness from a past investigation who is concerned for his mother’s safety.

Longmire (10pm, A&E) - Walt and the team search for missing teenage campers.

Teen Wolf (10pm, MTV) - Scott searches for a missing friend in Mexico in the Season 4 premiere.
