Extant (9pm, CBS) - Halle Berry joins the list of Oscar winners making the jump to TV with this eerie new CBS science-fiction drama. Berry (looking gorgeous as ever) plays an infertile astronaut trying to reconnect with her family after returning from a 13-month solo mission in space. Her husband, played by Goran Visnjic, is a scientist who has created a robot child for them – along the lines of the “A.I. Artificial Intelligence” movie by Stephen Spielberg from 2001. Speaking of Spielberg, he’s an executive producer. Right now, “Extant” is considered a 13-episode miniseries, but if it’s successful, it will get another season (just like “Under the Dome”). In the first episode, Molly Woods (Berry) returns home and is shocked to discover that she is pregnant. Did we mention she is infertile? On a solo mission? In space?
Suits (9pm, USA) - Mike initiates a hostile takeover of Gillis Industries while Harvey and Louis work feverishly against his efforts. Elsewhere, Jessica and Malone meet with Sean Cahill, who has the weight of the SEC behind him in bringing down the firm.
Secrets of the Dead (10pm, UNC-TV) - An alternate Leonardo da Vinci painting of Mona Lisa that was discovered in 2012 is studied. Art historians, research physicists, restoration experts and forensic-imaging specialists analyze the artwork, which shows a younger, happier Mona Lisa, in an attempt to verify its date and decipher any mathematical codes that may be hidden within it.
Jennifer Falls (10:30pm, TV Land) - Work obligations and family strife threaten a “staycation” held to reward Julia’s daughter’s grades.
