What do you think Uptown needs when it comes to parks?
That's the question I faced last week during an interview with researchers who are working on a master plan for Uptown's parks and open spaces.
I had plenty of suggestions:
A park similar to
Central Park (one big enough for concerts and festivals) would be incredible.
Make streets more pedestrian- and bike-friendly.
Build “connectors” to compensate for the
I-277 barrier. I bemoaned the loss of the trolley line bridge that used to connect
South End and Uptown.
More recreation facilities.
Center City Partners is collaborating with Park and Recreation, PROS Consulting and the Project for Public Spaces on the project.
Now it's your turn to let them know what you think:
There's a meeting with the planners from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 18) at Trinity Episcopal School, 750 E. Ninth St.
