Mary Ellen and Larry Horine of Boone toured Eastern Europe on a River Cruise through Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Hungary. This photo was taken in Belgrade on Nov. 11, 2007, the capital of Serbia. The Veliko Tarnovo Castle is in the background which overlooks the Danube River.

Students from West Iredell High visited Prague over spring break in April 2007. Pictured are Travis Gantt, Andrew and Christian McGuire, and Daniel Ervin. They also visited Germany, Vienna and Budapest.

Barbara and Donald Campbell of Weddington are pictured at Punta Tombo, Argentina. Punta Tombo area is where the largest concentration of Magellanic penguins have nested for many centuries during the Southern hemisphere's spring and summer months.

Anne and Tommy Miller of Charlotte are pictured in front of the Peace Statue in Peace Park in Nagasaki, Japan. The famous statue's right hand points upwards, depicting the threat of the atomic bomb and the left hand stretches horizontally, appealing for eternal world peace. The statue's closed eyes offer a prayer for the repose of the atomic bomb victim's souls. They were there on December 6, 2007, on a cruise to China and Southeast Asia.

Connie and Dick Ward (from left to right) of Amherst, VA, and Irby and Roy Hutchins of Jefferson, NC, are pictured in Passau, Germany on December 13, 2007. Passau was the last stop on a river cruise up the Danube from Budapest, Hungary, exploring the Christmas Markets in the villages along the river. The inscription on the carving roughly translated means, "a gifted king was born."

Sarah Henry surprised Tobin Henry with a trip to Half Moon Bay in Rose Hall, Jamaica for his 50th birthday.

Folks from the Greater Charlotte YMCA and Lincoln County YMCA are pictured in Old Town Square in Prague this past August during the YMCA 2008 Festival. It was an international gathering of more than 10,000 youths from around the world. They visited Tyn Church (pictured in background).
