The Atlantic 10 Conference is set to name Bernadette McGlade as its new commissioner at a news conference Monday in Philadelphia, the Observer has learned.
McGlade is currently senior associate commissioner of the ACC and oversees ACC women's basketball including scheduling, the ACC tournament, television selection and budget management.
In addition, McGlade also directs the officiating program, including recruitment, training and development of ACC basketball officials.
McGlade became the frontrunner for the position following last week's annual A-10 meeting in Naples, Fla., after which she was offered the position, multiple sources confirmed on Sunday. McGlade will replace Linda Bruno, who announced earlier this year she would leave her position in June.
During her tenure at the ACC, McGlade has worked with Olympic Sport Championships, NCAA and ACC Committee oversight including sportsmanship, equity and television.
A native of Gloucester City, N.J., McGlade earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the UNC-Chapel Hill.
