Police in Gastonia are asking for the public’s help in catching the people who allegedly have stolen more than $12,000 worth of gasoline this month from a convenience store.

The thefts have taken place, police say, at the Save-More, in the 1200 block of Union Road.

The most recent case occurred Tuesday. Police say a man paid several dollars in advance for gas, then apparently filled up two vehicles. Surveillance video shows those vehicles to be a Ford Taurus and a Dodge Durango.

The store owner says this has happened several times a day on several occasions this month. He says more than 3,700 gallons of gas has been taken, and police say they think three people are involved in the thefts.

Anyone who can identify the people in the photos is asked to call Detective Nancy Capistran, at 704-866-6884. Or information can be left with Crime Stoppers of Gaston County, at 704-861-8000.
