Make free valentine photos at a themed photo booth and participate in a Valentine Candy Crawl. There will be a kissing booth and a chance for kids to build a “love nest” for birds. Plus, face painting, chair massages, carriage rides and Valentine card art projects, all free.
Extreme Ice Center is offering kids ages 4-14 a free lesson in four different Olympic sports. On Saturday, learn ice skating at 12:45 p.m. and curling at 7:10 p.m. (kids must weigh at least 70 pounds to participate in curling.); Feb. 22 learn hockey at 2:45 p.m.; and on Feb. 23 learn speed skating at 12:30 p.m. Sign up for one or all at surveymonkey.com/s/xic_olympiad. Note: These events fill up quickly. Kids who complete all four sessions will get a special prize.
Enjoy a lunchtime concert honoring the most famous offspring of J.S. Bach with chamber works, including fortepiano quartets. Program also can be seen at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church (301 Caldwell Lane, Davidson) at 3 p.m. Sunday for $15 ($10 for seniors and students, free for kids under 12): www.musicatstalbansdavidson.org.
This program uses spoken word, music and dance to explore the contributions and struggles of Africans, African-Americans and Latino-Americans.
