Memorial Day weekend is usually a time where people head toward the water. And whether you are heading to Myrtle Beach or nearby Lake Norman, you’ve got to have the perfect swim look. Here are some summer swim necessities for honeymooning or just hanging by the pool:

J. Crew Straw Hat Big, floppy straw hats are very in style right now and I think there’s something ultra glamorous about a big hat and a bikini. I love this simple one from J. Crew. Throw on a hat like this when you are out on the beach and you can protect your face, neck and shoulders from those harsh sunrays.

Mara Hoffman One-Piece When I think of amazing swimwear, I think of Mara Hoffman. Her swimsuits always feature elements of fun like cutouts or tribal prints and this one-piece is no exception. The cutouts make it a little sexier than your average one-piece which makes it perfect for your Caribbean honeymoon.

Coola Sunscreen You can’t hang out on the beach without slathering on some SPF. I like Coola’s spray on sunscreen because it’s easy to use, unscented, and it’s made with all-natural organic ingredients. For a day on the beach, you’ll want to up your sunscreen SPF from 30 to around 50 for extra protection.

Tory Burch Flip Flops Flips flops are a must whether you are poolside or beachside. I like these Tory Burch flip flops because the color would go with everything. I also can’t get enough of that cute little gold Tory Burch logo.

Kate Spade Sunglasses Sunnies are a requirement in the summer. They not only help protect your eyes but also make you look extra chic in the process. Go with a nice oversized pair like these tortoise shell ones from Kate Spade. Choosing a basic like tortoise shell will make these glasses a staple year-round.

J. Crew Bikini I absolutely love J. Crew’s swimwear, especially this mint and white striped bikini. The colors are so fresh and I can’t help but adore the tie detailing. The bottoms aren’t too skimpy and the top won’t give you tan lines. It’s a win-win!
