Upset that her boyfriend invited another woman to their home, police say a Rock Hill woman stabbed him in the arm with a pair of scissors Saturday morning but denied it to authorities despite the puncture wound in his bicep.

Police at about 5:50 a.m. were sent to a Chestunt Street apartment after receiving calls about a domestic disturbance, according to a Rock Hill police report. Officers met the victim, Harold Fitzgerald Roddey, 50, in the street, where he told them that his live-in girlfriend, Tarasha Denton, 42, stabbed him in the left bicep with a pair of scissors.

Officers did notice a puncture wound in Roddey’s arm, the report states. Roddey explained that Denton became angry because he had another woman in their apartment. He was in bed when he and Denton allegedly started arguing.

Police found Denton at a house across the street, where she claimed she did not stab Roddey, the report states. But, as police spoke with her, an officer “caught Denton in...multiple lies.”

Two men who were on the porch with Denton told authorities that right before police arrived, Denton ran out her apartment. Police arrested Denton, charging her with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. Because he was drunk, police could not obtain a more detailed statement from Roddey.
