A Hickory man has been charged with trafficking fake IDs, Lincoln County authorities said today.
The suspect, Emilio Camarena Guzman, 33, was charged Friday with one count of trafficking in stolen identities and three counts of financial identity theft, according to the Sheriff's Office.
He was being held in the Harven A. Crouse Dentention Center under a $40,000 secured bond.
Authorities said Guzman was arrested after making arrangements to make false identification for an unidentified illegal immigrant. According to the Sheriff's Office, Guzman met with the person one day to take a picture and returned the next day with an N.C. driver's license and number along with a Social Security number and card for a price of $150.
