Mecklenburg County is inviting the public to offer their thoughts on a proposed plan to help residents move off public assistance to jobs and self-sufficiency.
The 2009-2011 Work First Plan was drafted by a committee of leaders representing employment and education, housing, childcare, family services, transportation and substance abuse and mental health. The plan will be presented to county commissioners later this month.
