When reviewing new beauty products, I rarely read the promises in pretty colors on the front - I go straight to the list of ingredients on the back. What's there should shock us, but instead we slather, smear and powder ourselves without a thought. After all, it smells pretty and promises to smooth, plump and disguise.
But what are we really putting on our skin? For years labels have touted products as natural, organic and free of harsh chemicals. But what does this mean? And what in the world is in the other stuff? I am told parabens are "bad" but what exactly are they? It's time for us to wise up and get to the bottom of the bottle to see what's inside. Here's a list of eight ingredients Sophie Uliano, author of Gorgeously Green encourages us to avoid: -Parabens
-Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)
-Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES)
-DEH, DEA, MEA, TEA & DEA
-Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (Quats)
-Carbomer 934, 940, 941, 960, 961C
