A husband and wife were found dead in a southern Lincolnton home Thursday.
Authorities were called to the house on Broome Street after the couple’s bodies were discovered in the home by a concerned neighbor. Michael Vincent, 57, and Bonnie Vincent, 52, had been shot to death, reports Observer news partner WCNC-TV.
Police tape surrounded the home Thursday as investigators examined the scene. Investigators have released few details about the deaths.
Neighbor Donna Womeldorf, who has lived next door to the victims for 13 years, told the Observer that the couple was “wonderful, giving, loving” and “one of the quietest couples in the neighborhood.”
Mike Vincent was a woodcarver and his wife had organized the neighborhood community watch, Womeldorf said.
Lincolnton Police Chief Rodney Jordan said the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
