Death. Taxes. Clemson losing in Chapel Hill.
Even in a season when North Carolina has proven to be one of the most unpredictable teams in the country, it managed to obtain at least one predictable result – an easy 80-61 home win over Clemson on Sunday.
It was the Tar Heels’ 57th straight win over the Tigers in Chapel Hill going back to 1926, the longest such streak in Division I basketball history.
“We were all aware of it. We didn’t talk about it a lot,” North Carolina guard Marcus Paige said. “Now I guess we can talk about it because it gets put off another year. I was happy to not be a part of the streak-ending team.”
