Hi I’m Carrie. I am a runner and have been since college in 2003. I began running for exercise and to help with freshman weight gain, but it quickly became my stress reliever, happy place, and 100% me-time.
I began participating in races when my husband and I moved to Austin, Texas. I was hooked on getting stronger and faster to creep up the ranks in my age group. I ran every morning before work and raced on the weekends! Running continued being my stress reliever and time of reflection and quiet. I stopped listening to music and focused on my breath and the sound of my feet hitting the pavement. I think I planned majority of my wedding on long runs in Austin!
Now that we live in Charlotte, I still identify myself as a runner even though I teach full-time as a FlyBarre Instructor at Flywheel Sports. I teach 12 classes a week, but have to make time for running. Even though teaching is my passion and I love group exercise, there is something that I crave about waking up early, lacing my shoes and heading outside totally alone. I can clear my mind and just be grateful that I have a little piece of the day to myself.

I am pregnant with our first baby and grateful to still be running...albeit, at a slower pace! I don’t think I will ever stop running. It’s too important to my physical and mental health!
Carrie Kaschak is a native of North Carolina. She received a degree in Finance from UNC Wilmington. After dabbling with the “cube lifestyle” for three years in Austin, TX, Carrie found her dream job at Flywheel Sports as the Charlotte Regional Manager. In this role, she became acquainted with FlyBarre and became an instructor. She was recently named a Flybarre Master Instructor.
