Dan Mauney, owner of the women’s shoe store Shu and the men’s underwear/swimwear store Brief, noticed that there were a lot of Girls’ Night Out shopping events for women, but that there weren’t many similar events for men. So a few weeks ago, he hosted Men’s Night Out at his two stores that are side-by-side in South End.
Vendors that appeal to men were there, including Silverfly and William Wilson Clothing. Common Market provided craft beers. Among the food were nibbles from Vida Cantina. And because more and more men are stepping up their fitness and grooming routines to look better and stay competitive in business, there were also representatives from Jeffre Scott Apothecary, Charlotte Athletic Club, Breathe: Massage and Bodywork, and The Refine Institute.
The evening was such a hit, Mauney has already planned another one for Oct. 16. For details, go to the event’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/mensnightoutclt.
