Just because students have to go back to school doesn’t mean summer is over. One spot to relish these later sunsets is Party in the Park, a new music event series at uptown’s Romare Bearden Park. Held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. each Wednesday through Sept. 24, it attracts families and friends and encourages dancing. (Details: www.charmeck.org.) We tried to stay focused on the tunes, but were distracted by concertgoers whose casual summer style had a little extra flair. Olivia Fortson
