Some hot (or cold) weather-beating ideas for your successful outdoor event
Choose the right time of year. In the Carolinas, April, May, September and October are best. June’s a possibility, but it can be hot and muggy. Avoid July, August and mid-winter months. Plan your event for late afternoon or evening. If it rains, you’ll have plenty of time to put your alternate plan into action and give your guests a heads up. Consider using tents with sides to block wind and rain, and ask about the possibility of large fans or heaters for temperature control. Your reception site coordinator or rental professional will be glad to make arrangements. Finally, rehearse both your primary and your alternate plans, so no matter what happens, you’ll know what to do.
