While away in New Jersey on business, Blake made an offer on a house that I had completely fallen in love with. Our real estate agent called me and said she wanted us to do a final walk-through before the inspections were submitted. I returned from New Jersey, and Blake asked me to meet him at the house. I noticed Blake’s car was in the driveway – but not our Realtor’s – and Blake was already in the house. I immediately called him and said, ‘Blake! We have to wait for Amy! We don’t own this house yet, and you’re not supposed to just walk right in!’ Blake assured me it was fine and to come inside. When I walked in, the room was filled with calla lilies (my favorite flower), and I took one look at him and knew exactly what was going on. He had called the sellers and told him what his plan was, and asked if they wouldn’t mind if he used the house to propose! He told me he knew how much I loved the house, and that it was where he wanted us to start our lives together. He wanted every time we walked through the living room for us to be reminded of the very moment we got engaged!
Lindsay and Blake were married on May 30, 2009.
