After a night out on the town with her sister, Charlotte Swann was getting ready to leave a Charlotte club and call it a night. Before she headed home, Andrew Love walked in and the two locked eyes. “It was like a movie where you see each other from across the room, which sounds corny,” laughs Charlotte. The two introduced themselves and ended up talking and dancing. Andrew called Charlotte the next day, and the fateful night sparked a five-year relationship. On Christmas Day in 2009, Andrew’s and Charlotte’s families were gathered together and opening gifts. Charlotte opened two gifts from Andrew. The first was a pair of shoes and the second was perfume. Then Andrew handed her a card. She read the thoughtful and loving words, and when she reached the bottom it said in bold letters, “Will you marry me??” She looked up and Andrew was down on one knee revealing a beautiful ring. “I was more in shock than anything. I did not see it coming. I just sat there with my mouth open,” recalls Charlotte. However, she finally gathered herself to say, “Yes!” Charlotte and Andrew wanted a traditional yet contemporary wedding. Charlotte wanted the white dress, wedding cake and bouquet of flowers. However, she didn’t want a long ceremony or big church wedding. The couple wanted the wedding to be elegant and convenient for their guests, so they chose to have both the ceremony and reception at Hilton Charlotte University Place. The lakefront hotel served as a beautiful and contemporary ceremony site. There were even two swans swimming in the background of the ceremony! Charlotte looked breathtaking in her trumpet-fit, sparkly gown from Dar-Lynn’s Bridal. Five years earlier, the couple had locked eyes from across the room, and on this April day the two locked eyes again and became husband and wife. The reception was all about having a good time. The décor was simple and elegant with beautiful flower centerpieces and floating candles. Nona’s Sweets was responsible for the four-tiered wedding cake with cascading, purple hydrangeas. Image Gallery was there to capture all the memorable moments of the day. From their sweetheart table, Charlotte and Andrew felt the love as they looked out at all their friends and family having a wonderful time. After a relaxing week in the Bahamas, Charlotte and Andrew are now enjoying each other in the comfort of their everyday lives. The two are working and hoping to start a family, although they want to travel first before they settle down.
