Hitting the ground running

My name is Sheri and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to get into the best shape of my life before our big day! Along the way, I hope not only get my own health in check, but to hopefully inspire other women to do the same.
I am originally from South Florida where I met my fiancé, Jeff, in the 4th grade. He spent two years as my arch nemesis before we went to separate middle schools and then high schools. Ten years later, I ran into his mother while I was on summer break from school. She told me how well he was doing -- playing baseball all the way over at Southern Mississippi. I took her up on the offer to find him on Facebook and here we are, almost three years (and one heck of a long distance relationship) later, getting married in October of next year. He is the most loving and supportive person I have ever met, and I cannot wait for him to go from best friend to husband.
Alright, so here's the big question: why have I started this eight month journey? Well, I've never really worried about my health or physical fitness -- I didn't have to. I played soccer through college, have been a vegetarian for quite some time now and even majored in Exercise Physiology (where's my excuse, right?). When soccer was over, I began to focus on competing in pageants which kept me working out every day. This time when the pageants ended, so did my not-so-busy schedule. Between balancing going back to school for a second degree, working and planning a wedding, I put my health on the back burner. Not only did my pants get tighter, but my energy level dropped to zero. That's when the pouting started. I had to find a way to learn to balance my time and health before it got even more out of control then it already was. When I saw the Get Fit Challenge by Carolina Bride, I knew it was my chance.
So now I'm ready to hit the ground running (literally!). I look forward to sharing my goals, tips and wedding planning with all of you and cannot wait to cross the finish line to a new and healthy lifestyle.
World peace and skinny jeans,
