When Sarah Norkum and John Garvin started planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to focus on the marriage first. "We wanted to make sure we stayed focused on each other and what a marriage was all about, while leaving the stresses behind," says Sarah. The couple researched weddings in Africa, Greece, and Spain, but it wasn't until they took a look at Turkey that their vision fell into place. "John loves history and his eyes lit up the moment I mentioned Turkey." Within hours they had researched the country and jumped headfirst into planning.

It was just Sarah and John on their wedding day, along with Cassandra and Brian from BlueSky Studios. "Since it was just Johnny and I, it was important to bring photographers that knew our personalities and could capture our day to share with family and friends," she says. "They were amazing and we're beyond thrilled with our pictures." After an intimate ceremony at the Argos Hotel in Uchisar, the couple celebrated with a private reception overlooking the breathtaking Cappadocian Valley. In a quiet area of the Balkon Restaurant, Sarah and John shared their first dance, ate wedding cake, and read well wishes from all their friends and family back home. The journey continued with a 15-day honeymoon throughout Turkey. From horseback riding and a hot-air balloon ride in Cappadocia to jumping off the tallest mountain in Oludeniz, the couple took every opportunity to start their marriage with the spirit of adventure. To share their joy with family and friends, Sarah and John hosted another celebration in Charlotte. The couple gave guests a glimpse into their day with Turkish decor and included a slideshow of their two-week voyage. "I dream of our wedding day every other minute," says Sarah. "It was perfection. Just us, our love for each other, and the world beyond."
