A Spring Inspired Birthday

Birthdays are a big cause for celebration in our home. When I was little, my mum used to decorate the living room/dining area with banners, balloons, flowers, birthday plates, and more. We do the same for everyone in the house, and as I’ve grown older and found my passion for events, I was eager to do something really special for my mum. With Mother’s Day and my mum’s birthday in the same month, I knew May was the perfect time for a spring inspired birthday table.
My mum loves pastel colors, dragonflies, and butterflies, so that started my inspiration. I used moss as a table runner to give that fresh, spring feel to the look. Bright yellow and white flowers continued to bring life to the table, which I complemented with dragonfly place cards (I really loved these), gold chargers, and butterfly plates. I also used a spring garland and butterfly clips to decorate the runner. As a final detail, I dressed up the chairs with pastel ribbons.
I was working on a budget, but I think that worked in my favor. Keeping it simple made for a lovely design, and the most important part is that my mum loved it. Now I just have my brother and hubby to plan for!
