Q: Do you guys think an open relationship can work?
Mia: While I adore “Big Love,” I tend to think that more than two is a crowd when it comes to romance. Sharing often leaves people feeling hurt or confused. But I have to admit that I'm the wrong generation to ask about this. Steve, you ever been to a key party?
Steve: I've been to a few keg parties, but key parties, no. I can't think of anything that would be more stressful or high maintenance than an “open” relationship. Love is fleeting, but jealousy is forever.
Better advice from reader
Q: Your advice to the vegan wife who got Hickory Farms sausages from her father-in-law was good except one very important part. You should have advised her to donate the unwanted food to a food pantry. There are thousands of starving families and children that go hungry every day and could use this food to survive. To throw out perfectly good food is a waste and in some eyes a sin. You could have advised her to turn what she thought was a negative into a positive and made someone's life a little brighter. They might also be able to use the donation for a tax write-off on their end and save some money on their taxes. Make the situation positive rather than such a negative event.
Steve: We always appreciate when readers improve upon our advice. Your idea certainly does that. Thank you.
Mia: Interesting idea. I'm going to start boxing up all the food I don't like and sending it away. Philadelphia Daily News
