Jade IPA, Foothills Brewing,
About $6.99 for a 22-ounce bottle
Never miss a local story.
Beer geeks swarmed bottle shops last week in search of the highly coveted Bell’s Hopslam, when one of North Carolina’s premier India pale ales was available on store shelves for the first time. Foothills Brewing answered many prayers when it bottled its previously draft-only Jade IPA, which is named for its use of Pacific Jade hops from New Zealand. These contribute notes of juicy tangerines and sweet melon, with a pleasant herbal quality lingering into the finish. Daniel Hartis
