Who gets the copy of “Shrimp,” by Charlotte chef Jay Pierce of Rocksalt?
That would be Paula Levi of Clover, who was the winner of our random drawing for a signed copy of the book.
“Shrimp” is the newest book in the “Savor the South” cookbook series from UNC Press. The series, which includes a number of N.C. authors, is a continuing series of books covering single subjects (oh, like “Bourbon” or “Pecans”). Several new books are released each spring and fall.
Also new this spring: “Catfish,” by Tennessee authors Paul and Angela Knipple, and “Gumbo,” by Dale Curry, the retired food editor of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Never miss a local story.
And don’t forget: If you didn’t win, you can still score a signed copy of “Shrimp.” Pierce is doing a book-signing at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at Park Road Books, conveniently close to Rocksalt, 512 Brandywine Road. (From what I’ve heard about the popularity of the Sunday brunch, you might get out in time to do both.)
