A few weekends of solid partying can make your jeans feel tight.
But do you know how much calorie damage one alcoholic drink can do? And can you still drink alcohol if you're trying to stay healthy?
Yes, says Lona Sandon, assistant professor of clinical nutrition at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She says moderate alcohol consumption is fine.
That's defined as one drink per day for women and two drinks for men. One drink equals 5 ounces of wine, a 12-ounce bottle of beer or 11 / 2 ounces of liquor.
